Our Career Center supports adults, youth, and older workers who are re-entering the workforce or looking to develop new skills for higher-paying opportunities. Our mission is to provide quality resources and expert guidance to help you achieve career success.

To meet with a counselor and apply for full-time or part-time jobs in St. Lawrence County, you must be registered with the NYS Department of Labor. You can download and mail your registration form to the One-Stop Career Center or visit us in person to complete it.

We make your job search easier by keeping up to date with local employment opportunities and the skills employers value most. For more information about registration, available services, or current job listings, contact the One-Stop Career Center at 315-386-3276 and ask to speak with one of our counselors.

To get started, visit the Resources page and complete both the Customer Registration Form and the Supplemental Questionnaire. You can fill out these forms online and email them to the One-Stop Career Center at slconestop@gmail.com, mail them to One-Stop Career Center, 80 State Hwy 310, Suite 8, Canton, NY 13617, or deliver them in person to the same address.

The Arc is the largest local provider of supports for people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. They are a large local employer.

St. Lawrence County frequently posts upcoming exams for positions available in the county. We highly suggest you take a look at positions you are interested in, and follow the directions in the exam posting.

Financial Assistance
As funding allows, individuals who meet the eligibility requirements under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program may qualify for financial assistance to develop job-specific skills or knowledge through a locally approved training provider. An employment plan must be created and approved before any funding is awarded. For more information, please call or visit the One-Stop Career Center to schedule an appointment with a WIOA Employment & Training Counselor.
Supportive Services
WIOA can help remove barriers to training and employment. Supportive services may include:

Transportation (bus passes, fuel, mileage)

Childcare or dependent care

Work-related supplies, uniforms, or tools

Books or training materials

Temporary housing or emergency assistance
These services are provided based on need and program eligibility to help participants succeed in training and employment.

The North Country Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is dedicated to helping entrepreneurs and small businesses solve problems, improve productivity, and boost profitability.
