Our Services
The One-Stop Career Center provides a wide range of services to support your employment goals. Funded through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Grant, we offer financial assistance for training and education in high-demand fields within our county. In addition, we provide various employment-related services designed to help you secure meaningful and rewarding work.
Education and Trainings

We partner with local schools and training centers to help individuals gain skills in high-demand careers. Programs at BOCES, SUNY Canton, and other approved education providers may be eligible for partial funding through the WIOA Grant.
On the Job Training

We partner with local employers to hire and train eligible participants. Employers receive a 50% wage reimbursement, while participants work a minimum of 30 hours per week. The program lasts between 8 and 26 weeks and is open to both new hires and existing staff at qualifying businesses.
Youth Work Experience

Through partnerships with local employers, we provide eligible youth ages 16–24 with valuable work experience in real-world job settings. Participants develop interviewing, workplace, and leadership skills while gaining hands-on experience that strengthens their résumés and prepares them for long-term career success.

During their placement, participants are employed through the St. Lawrence County payroll and covered by workers’ compensation. This program is funded by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) grant.
Resume Building

Need help with your resume? The staff at the One-Stop Career Center are ready to assist you! Once your resume is completed, it can be updated or printed at any time. Simply fill out the Resume Information Sheet found on our Resources page, and we’ll handle the rest.
Summer Youth Employment Program

Our Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP), funded through a grant, gives youth ages 14–24 the chance to gain real work experience. Through partnerships with local employers, we place approximately 100 participants into summer jobs. The program typically runs from early July through mid-August and helps youth gain valuable experience—learning how to manage paychecks, work with coworkers and supervisors, and participate in interviews.
Transitional Jobs

Through partnerships with local employers, we help eligible St. Lawrence County residents (adults and dislocated workers) gain work experience and build their skills. Participants entering or re-entering the workforce are placed at a worksite for 5–8 weeks, where they can strengthen their résumés, practice interviewing, and develop valuable on-the-job skills.

During the program, participants are paid through St. Lawrence County and covered by workers’ compensation. Funded by the WIOA grant, this program’s ultimate goal is to help participants move into permanent employment with their host employer whenever possible.
